Custom Fitted Table Covers
Custom Fitted Table Covers
A fitted cover looks like part of the table, not something thrown over it. Sewn to the shape of a 6 ft or 8 ft table with boxed corners, it sits close on every side, keeps the hem off the floor and out of the wind, and carries your print on flat, square panels all the way round. Dye sublimated into 8.8 oz polyester table fabric and fully washable.
- Two lengths, cut for standard 6 ft and 8 ft folding tables
- Fitted shape with boxed corners and hemmed edges, so it stays in place
- Open back or closed back at the same price, choose by how you use the table
- Full colour dye sublimation on every visible side, not a logo patch on a blank cloth
- 100% machine washable, folds into a bag between events
- Ships the next business day when your artwork is approved before 4pm PT
Why fitted instead of a draped throw
A standard table throw is a flat piece of fabric that falls over the table and gathers in folds at each corner. It looks fine indoors on a still day. A fitted cover is sewn to the table's shape, so the top sits flat, the corners are square, and the sides drop straight down like the panels of a box.
That difference matters in three places. Outdoors, a loose throw catches every gust and lifts off the front of the table, while a fitted cover holds its shape. In busy aisles, a fitted hem stays tidy instead of spreading out where people walk, which removes a trip hazard at the front of your stand. And for the print itself, flat panels show your design the way you built it. Nothing gets lost in a fold.
If your table sits under a gazebo at a market, beside a car park at a sports day, or in the middle of a packed exhibition hall, fitted is the safer choice.
Open back or closed back, same price
- 4 sided, closed back. All four sides enclosed for a full wraparound print. Choose it when the table stands in the open, when people walk all the way round it, or when you want boxes and bags underneath completely out of sight.
- 3 sided, open back. The front and both ends are covered and the back is left open, so you can sit at the table, get your legs underneath and reach stock without lifting fabric every time.
On the fitted cover both options cost exactly the same, so there is no reason to compromise. Pick the one that matches how the table is used. The two are cut differently, so the artwork area is a different shape for each. Decide before you start designing.
Pick the length
Fitted covers are cut to the table, so the length has to be right. Measure the table you will be standing behind, or get the size in writing from the venue.
- 6 ft fits the standard 72 inch folding table that most venues supply. If you are buying one cover and do not know what you will be given, this is the one.
- 8 ft fits a 96 inch table. Eight feet of branded frontage reads from the far end of a hall and suits larger booths and banquet setups.
Setting up your artwork
A fitted cover prints from one flat file built to the template for your size and back style. Large format fabric has its own rules, and the three people get wrong most often are:
- No crop marks and no bleed. The fabric is cut to the template, not trimmed down, so build to the size and stop there.
- 150 dpi is the target, not 300. At this physical size 150 dpi is already plenty, and 300 dpi only makes the file four times bigger.
- CMYK, with fonts outlined. Convert Pantone and spot colours to CMYK and turn live fonts into outlines so nothing reflows.
Send a single page PDF or a JPEG, up to 300MB. We check every file before it prints and come back to you if anything needs changing.
Designing for a fitted cover
The front panel is the one everyone reads, and the bottom third of it is hidden behind chairs, bags and visitors for most of the day. Keep the logo and business name in the upper half of the front. The ends are seen by people walking toward you along the aisle, so they are a good place for a short message or your web address. The top is covered by products and literature all day, so leave it simple.
Keep the words few. A name, what you do in a handful of words, and a website is enough. Put the detail on a table tent card on the tabletop, or at eye level on a tabletop banner.
What to use it with
The table is the surface every visitor stands in front of, so a branded cover does more per dollar than most display hardware. Pair it with something vertical: a pull-up banner behind you carries the message people read from across the room, and a feather flag outside pulls them toward the stand. If you prefer a softer draped look indoors, see our custom printed table covers.
Care and storage
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, then hang or lay flat to dry. Do not bleach, do not tumble dry and do not iron. Use a hand steamer for creases. Light creasing also drops out on its own within an hour of the cover going on the table. Fold loosely between events and change where the folds land.

Artwork requirements
Upload print-ready files as PDF (preferred), AI, EPS, JPG, or PNG at 300 DPI in CMYK color. Extend backgrounds 0.125" past the trim edge (bleed) and keep text and logos at least 0.125" inside it (safe area). Every file is checked by our team before production — if something's off, we'll contact you before anything prints.
Proofing and production
Production time starts after your artwork passes file review — not at checkout. If your order requires proof approval, we'll send the proof and the production clock starts once you approve it. Turnaround options for each product are shown in the configurator above.
Shipping and delivery
Delivery time is production time plus transit. Once your order ships you'll get a tracking number by email. Transit depends on your address and the shipping method selected at checkout — larger format items may ship separately from small-format printing.

Answers about artwork, production and ordering.
What is the difference between a fitted table cover and a standard table cover?
A standard cover is a flat throw that drapes over the table and falls in soft folds at the corners. A fitted cover is sewn to the shape of the table, with boxed corners, so it sits close on every side and the edges stay tidy. That makes it the better choice outdoors, where a loose throw catches the wind, and in busy aisles, where a loose hem is something people catch with their feet. It also gives the print flat, square panels on every side instead of folds.
Does a closed back cost more on a fitted table cover?
No. On the fitted cover the open back and the closed back are the same price, so the choice is only about how you use the table. Pick open back if you sit behind it and need to reach stock underneath, and closed back if people walk all the way round it or you want a full wraparound print.
How do I make sure I order the right table size?
Measure the table you will actually use, or confirm in writing with the venue — many halls supply 6 ft as standard and only provide 8 ft on request. A cover that is too short leaves the legs exposed; one that is too long puddles on the floor. If you exhibit at venues with both, owning one of each is worth it.
How should I set up artwork for a table cover?
Send a single page PDF or a JPEG, up to 300MB, in CMYK at 150 dpi. Build the file to the finished panel size with no crop marks and no bleed, because fabric this size is cut to the template rather than trimmed down. Convert any Pantone or spot colours to CMYK and convert live fonts to outlines. 300 dpi is not needed at this physical size and only gives you a file four times larger. We check every file before it prints and come back to you if anything needs changing.
What does dye sublimation mean for a table cover?
The design is printed with heat, which turns the ink into a gas that bonds with the polyester fibres. The colour ends up inside the fabric instead of sitting on top of it as a layer, so there is nothing to crack, peel or flake off along the fold lines. The cover stays soft, it drapes properly rather than standing stiff, and the print survives being folded into a bag and washed between events.
How fast can I get a printed table cover?
Covers go into production the next business day when artwork is approved before 4pm Pacific, and shipping time sits on top of that depending on the service you choose at checkout. If you are working to a fixed event date, order with a few days of slack. The artwork check is where most delays start, and a file that needs changing costs a day.
How do I wash and store a printed table cover?
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, then lay flat or hang to dry. Do not bleach, do not tumble dry, and do not iron it. Heat is what fixed the colour into the fabric, and an iron is the one household thing hot enough to damage the print. Creases come out with a hand steamer, and light creasing drops out on its own within an hour of the cover being stretched over a table. Fold loosely between events and vary where the folds land so you do not set a permanent line.
