PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Mesh Banners

Mesh banners let wind pass straight through — the only sensible choice for fence lines, scaffolding and exposed outdoor sites. Printed full color on 8oz polyester mesh in 37 sizes, with hemming and grommet options. Ready in 2 to 4 business days.

  • 8oz polyester mesh — perforated fabric that lets roughly a third of the wind through
  • Dramatically less wind load than solid vinyl, so fixings and fences survive
  • Lighter weight — easier to handle and install on long spans
  • 37 sizes including long fence-line proportions
  • Hemming and grommets to match your installation

Choose your hemming

  • None — short-term installations only.
  • Top and bottom or right and left — reinforces whichever pair of edges carries the load.
  • 2 shortest sides or 2 longest sides — the same reinforcement by proportion.
  • All 4 sides — strongly recommended for mesh, because mesh installations are outdoors by definition and usually stay up for months.

Choose your grommet spacing

  • None, top 2 corners or all 4 corners — for small mesh panels and short installs.
  • Every 2–3 feet on top and bottom — the standard for a run of construction fencing.
  • Every 2–3 feet on sides — for tall panels laced vertically.
  • Every 2–3 feet all around — the right answer for long-term fence installations: the entire perimeter is lashed, so no edge can lift and start flapping.

Why mesh instead of vinyl

A solid vinyl banner is a sail. On a 20-foot fence span in a gusty location, that sail will either tear at the grommets or pull the fence over. Mesh has thousands of small perforations that bleed pressure through the fabric, cutting wind load substantially while still reading as a solid image from any normal viewing distance.

That makes it the standard for construction site hoarding, sports field and stadium fence advertising, scaffolding wraps, festival perimeters and any building-scale outdoor graphic. The tradeoff is that colors are very slightly less dense than on solid vinyl, because part of the surface is holes — which is invisible at 30 feet and obvious at 30 inches.

Designing for mesh

Because you view mesh from a distance, design for distance: big shapes, heavy type, high contrast, no fine detail and no small body copy. Avoid photographic backgrounds behind text. Build files at 72–100 DPI at final size in CMYK with 0.125" bleed, and keep all content at least 3" inside the edge so grommets and hems never encroach on the artwork.

Artwork requirements

Upload print-ready files as PDF (preferred), AI, EPS, JPG, or PNG at 300 DPI in CMYK color. Extend backgrounds 0.125" past the trim edge (bleed) and keep text and logos at least 0.125" inside it (safe area). Every file is checked by our team before production — if something's off, we'll contact you before anything prints.

Proofing and production

Production time starts after your artwork passes file review — not at checkout. If your order requires proof approval, we'll send the proof and the production clock starts once you approve it. Turnaround options for each product are shown in the configurator above.

Shipping and delivery

Delivery time is production time plus transit. Once your order ships you'll get a tracking number by email. Transit depends on your address and the shipping method selected at checkout — larger format items may ship separately from small-format printing.

HELPFUL BEFORE YOU ORDER

Helpful before you order

Answers about artwork, production and ordering.

When should I use mesh instead of solid vinyl?

Any time the banner goes on a fence, scaffolding or an exposed span. Mesh is perforated so a large share of the wind passes through, cutting the load that would otherwise tear grommets out or pull a fence over. The tradeoff is very slightly less dense color, which is invisible at normal viewing distance.

What does hemming do and do I need it?

Hemming folds the vinyl edge back and welds it, doubling the material where the banner is fixed. It is the single biggest factor in how long a banner lasts outdoors, because tears almost always start at an unreinforced edge. Skip it only for a one-off indoor hang; choose all four sides for anything outdoors beyond a few days.

How do I stop a banner tearing in the wind?

Wind destroys banners by turning a flat sheet into a sail. Tension from every grommet rather than just the corners, and use bungee cords or elastic ties instead of rigid rope so gusts stretch rather than tear. In genuinely exposed locations, order grommets every 2 to 3 feet all around so the load is spread across many fixings instead of four, and hem all four sides — tears almost always start at an unreinforced edge.
