Yard Signs 6mm
Yard Signs 6mm
6mm coroplast yard signs — half again as thick as standard, for signs that stay out longer and stand up to more wind. Full color on corrugated plastic in 18 sizes, with eight grommet patterns, single or double-sided printing and optional H-stakes. Same-business-day production available.
- 6mm coroplast — noticeably stiffer than 4mm, resists flexing and corner damage
- Built for longer campaigns — seasonal promotions, construction sites, multi-month listings
- 18 sizes from 6" x 24" rider strips to 48" x 48" panels
- Eight grommet patterns plus a no-grommet option for stake mounting
- Same-day production available
Choose your print sides
- Printed 1 sided (4/0) — color front, white back, for signs mounted flat against a surface.
- Printed 2 sided (4/4) — different artwork on each face, for opposite directions of traffic that need different messages.
- Printed 2 sided — same image — identical both faces, the standard for freestanding signs seen from two directions.
Choose your grommet pattern
- No grommets — the right choice for stake mounting; the stake slides into the flutes.
- Top 2 corners — hanging from hooks or a railing.
- All 4 corners — zip-tied flat to a fence so wind cannot lift the sign.
- Real estate top only / top and bottom — sized for standard hanging frames and rider strips.
- Every 2–3 feet on top and bottom, on sides, or all around — for larger panels lashed along a fence line.
When 6mm is worth the upgrade over 4mm
Thickness in coroplast is mostly about stiffness, not durability of the print. A 4mm sign at 24" x 36" will visibly bow in a steady wind; the same sign in 6mm holds its plane. That matters in three situations: large sizes, exposed sites, and signs that get taken down and put back up repeatedly. Construction fencing, seasonal roadside advertising, sports field sponsor boards and long-running real-estate listings all justify the step up.
If your signs go out for a weekend and come back in, 4mm saves money with no practical downside. For year-round installation or heavy wind exposure, go to 8mm or 10mm.
Designing for outdoor reading distance
Allow roughly 10 feet of readable distance per inch of capital letter height. Keep the message to a headline, one supporting line and a phone number or QR code. Use high contrast — dark type on a light field or the reverse — and avoid photographic backgrounds behind text, which destroy legibility at speed. Build files at 100–150 DPI at full size in CMYK, with 0.125" bleed.

Artwork requirements
Upload print-ready files as PDF (preferred), AI, EPS, JPG, or PNG at 300 DPI in CMYK color. Extend backgrounds 0.125" past the trim edge (bleed) and keep text and logos at least 0.125" inside it (safe area). Every file is checked by our team before production — if something's off, we'll contact you before anything prints.
Proofing and production
Production time starts after your artwork passes file review — not at checkout. If your order requires proof approval, we'll send the proof and the production clock starts once you approve it. Turnaround options for each product are shown in the configurator above.
Shipping and delivery
Delivery time is production time plus transit. Once your order ships you'll get a tracking number by email. Transit depends on your address and the shipping method selected at checkout — larger format items may ship separately from small-format printing.

Answers about artwork, production and ordering.
Is 4mm coroplast thick enough?
For the jobs these signs are built for, yes. All coroplast is equally waterproof — thickness only buys stiffness, and 4mm is the weight yard signs print on here. It holds its shape on a stake through a campaign season, an open-house weekend or an event run, and it stores flat between uses. For a panel that has to stay rigid outdoors for a year or more, choose a rigid board rather than corrugated plastic.
Do I need grommets if I'm using ground stakes?
No — choose the no-grommets option. An H-stake works by sliding its two legs up inside the hollow flutes of the coroplast, so no holes are needed. Grommets are for hanging or zip-tying a sign to a fence. Plan on one stake per sign up to 18" x 24" and two for anything wider, and push them in by the horizontal bar rather than by pressing on the sign itself.
How big does my yard sign need to be?
Allow roughly 10 feet of readable distance for every inch of capital letter height. An 18" x 24" sign with a 3" headline reads from about 30 feet, which suits foot traffic and residential streets. For cars at 40 mph, go to 24" x 36" or larger and cut the message to five or six words.
