Matte Vinyl Banners

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Matte Vinyl Banners

13oz matte vinyl banners — the same heavy scrim vinyl without the shine, so your message stays readable under stage lights and camera flash. Full color in 74 sizes, with hemming and grommet options to match how you hang it. Next-business-day production available.

  • 13oz scrim vinyl — tough, tear-resistant, weatherproof
  • Matte surface — no glare, no hot spots, photographs cleanly
  • 74 sizes from small directional banners to full building spans
  • Hemming and grommets configured for your mounting method
  • Next-business-day production available

Choose your hemming

  • None — cheapest; suitable for a one-off indoor hang.
  • Top and bottom — reinforces the load-bearing edges of a wall-mounted banner.
  • Right and left — for banners stretched between vertical posts.
  • 2 shortest sides or 2 longest sides — the same reinforcement described by proportion, handy on near-square banners.
  • All 4 sides — recommended for any outdoor banner. A folded, welded edge is what stops a small tear becoming a destroyed banner.

Choose your grommet spacing

  • None — for pole pockets and tension frames.
  • Top 2 corners — simple indoor hanging.
  • All 4 corners — the outdoor minimum.
  • Every 2–3 feet on top and bottom — the standard for wall and fence mounting.
  • Every 2–3 feet on sides — for vertical lacing between posts.
  • Every 2–3 feet all around — for large, exposed installations.

Why matte is the professional's default indoors

Anywhere there are lights, there is glare, and glare is the enemy of a banner that people photograph. Step-and-repeat backdrops, conference stages, media walls, product launches and church or school stages are all matte for the same reason: a gloss banner under a spotlight produces a white blowout exactly where the logo is. Matte vinyl scatters that light so the surface reads evenly on camera and to the eye.

Matte also suits text-heavy banners read at close range, since there is no reflection to fight while reading. For maximum outdoor color impact at distance, glossy vinyl banners hit harder.

Getting a professional hang

Tension from every grommet, not just the corners. Use bungee ties so wind gusts stretch rather than tear. For a step-and-repeat, keep the logo grid spacing tight enough that at least two full logos appear behind a person's head and shoulders in a portrait crop, and keep the pattern at least 6" clear of the banner edges. Build files at 100 DPI at final size in CMYK with 0.125" bleed and 2" of safe margin.

Artwork requirements

Upload print-ready files as PDF (preferred), AI, EPS, JPG, or PNG at 300 DPI in CMYK color. Extend backgrounds 0.125" past the trim edge (bleed) and keep text and logos at least 0.125" inside it (safe area). Every file is checked by our team before production — if something's off, we'll contact you before anything prints.

Proofing and production

Production time starts after your artwork passes file review — not at checkout. If your order requires proof approval, we'll send the proof and the production clock starts once you approve it. Turnaround options for each product are shown in the configurator above.

Shipping and delivery

Delivery time is production time plus transit. Once your order ships you'll get a tracking number by email. Transit depends on your address and the shipping method selected at checkout — larger format items may ship separately from small-format printing.

HELPFUL BEFORE YOU ORDER

Helpful before you order

Answers about artwork, production and ordering.

Glossy or matte vinyl — which should I choose?

Gloss gives maximum color saturation and the deepest blacks, which wins outdoors at distance. Matte scatters light, so it has no hot spots under spotlights or camera flash — the reason step-and-repeats, stage backdrops and media walls are always matte. If the banner will be photographed, choose matte.

What does hemming do and do I need it?

Hemming folds the vinyl edge back and welds it, doubling the material where the banner is fixed. It is the single biggest factor in how long a banner lasts outdoors, because tears almost always start at an unreinforced edge. Skip it only for a one-off indoor hang; choose all four sides for anything outdoors beyond a few days.

How many grommets should my banner have?

Four corners is the outdoor minimum. Every 2 to 3 feet on top and bottom is the standard for a wall or fence banner, because more fixings means less stress at each one. Go all around for large exposed installations. Choose none only if the banner is going into a pole pocket or a tension frame.
