Shipping policy

This page explains how long orders take, what our turnaround times mean, what shipping costs, and what we are and are not responsible for once an order leaves us. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

Turnaround and delivery are two different things

This is the single most common misunderstanding in printing, so it is worth being blunt about it.

The turnaround shown on a product page is production time. It is how long the job takes to make. It is not how long it takes to reach you.

Total time = production time + transit time.

A product showing a 4 to 6 business day turnaround is telling you how long it spends being printed, finished and packed. Transit is on top of that, and depends on how far the shipment travels.

When production time starts

Production time starts when all of the following are true, not when you place the order:

  • your payment has cleared;
  • your artwork has been received in full;
  • a person has reviewed the artwork and released it to production.

If we find a problem with a file and contact you about it, the clock does not start until it is resolved. An order held for two days waiting on a corrected file is an order that finishes two days later. The fastest thing you can do to get your job on time is send correct files at the start.

Production time is counted in business days. Weekends and public holidays are not business days. An order released to production after our daily cut-off begins counting from the next business day. [DAILY CUT-OFF TIME TO CONFIRM.]

Turnaround times are estimates, not guarantees

Turnaround times reflect normal production conditions and are given in good faith. They are estimates. They are not a promise, a contractual commitment, or a guarantee of a completion date.

Production can run long for reasons including equipment faults, material availability, colour or quality problems requiring a rerun, higher than usual volume, and circumstances outside our control.

Where we can see a job is going to run late, we will tell you. We are not able to offer a refund, a discount or compensation because a job took longer than the estimate, and a longer than estimated production time is not on its own grounds for cancelling an order that has already entered production.

Delivery dates are not guaranteed

Once your order leaves us it is in the hands of a carrier we do not control.

We do not offer guaranteed delivery, date-certain delivery, or delivery by a specific event or deadline. Any delivery date or window shown at checkout, in a tracking notification, or on a carrier's website is the carrier's own estimate. It is not a commitment from FlashyPrint and it is not a term of your order.

We are not responsible for delays caused by carriers, weather, natural events, road or air network disruption, address problems, failed delivery attempts, industrial action, public holidays, or anything else outside our reasonable control.

Faster shipping buys a shorter expected transit time. It does not buy a guarantee, and it does nothing to production time.

If your job has a deadline

Printed material is usually made for a date. Please plan for that date, because we cannot rescue it afterwards.

  • Order with real margin. Add several business days on top of production plus transit.
  • Tell us the deadline before you order, not after. Email info@flashyprint.com and we will tell you honestly whether it is realistic. If it is not, we would rather say so than take the order.
  • Send correct, print-ready files with the order.

As set out in our Terms of Service, we do not accept liability for the consequences of a missed date, including event costs, lost business, or the cost of having the work produced elsewhere.

Shipping costs

We ship within the United States only. We do not currently ship internationally.

Standard orders:

  • Standard shipping: $9.95
  • Free standard shipping on orders of $200 or more

Heavy and oversized items, such as large format signage, banners and rigid boards, ship on a separate rate because of their size and weight:

  • Under $75: $14.95
  • $75 to $199.99: $24.95
  • $200 and over: $39.95

Free shipping does not apply to heavy and oversized items at any order value. Where a cart contains both types of item, shipping is calculated on each accordingly. The rate that applies to your order is always the one shown at checkout before you pay.

Rates can change at any time. The rate shown at checkout is the one charged.

Split shipments

Orders containing several products may be produced on different equipment and finish at different times. Where that happens we may ship them separately, at no extra cost to you, so that finished items are not held back waiting for the rest. You may receive more than one tracking number for a single order, and parts of your order may arrive on different days.

Your delivery address

You are responsible for the accuracy of the address you enter at checkout. Please check it before paying, particularly unit, suite and apartment numbers.

Once an order has shipped, the address cannot be changed by us.

Where a shipment is returned to us, delayed, or lost because the address was wrong, incomplete, or unattended, we are not responsible for the delay, and any reshipment is at your cost. Where a shipment is refused or goes unclaimed and is returned to us, we may charge the cost of reshipping it, and custom printed goods that cannot be redelivered are not refundable.

Please make sure someone can receive the delivery. Large format items in particular arrive on pallets or in oversized packaging and may need signing for.

Title and risk

Title and the risk of loss or damage pass to you when we hand the goods to the carrier.

Damage in transit and missing shipments

Check your delivery as soon as it arrives, even if you do not need the goods immediately, because claim windows are short.

If a shipment arrives damaged:

  1. Keep all the packaging. Photographs of damaged packaging are usually what decides a carrier claim.
  2. Photograph the outer packaging, the damaged goods, and any shipping labels.
  3. Email info@flashyprint.com with your order number and the photographs within 7 days of delivery.

If tracking shows delivered but nothing has arrived, check with neighbours and around the property first, then contact us within 7 days of the delivery date shown. We will open a trace with the carrier. Carrier traces take time and their outcome is decided by the carrier, not by us.

Claims outside the windows in our Refund Policy are not eligible for any remedy.

Tracking

We email a tracking number when your order ships. Carrier tracking can take up to a full business day to start updating after a label is created, so a tracking number that shows no movement yet is normal. You can see your orders at any time at your account.
