Foam Board Signs
Foam Board Signs
Foam board signs give you a perfectly flat, lightweight display panel with a smooth photographic surface. Printed full color on 4mm foam board in 18 sizes, single or double-sided, with optional grommets — and same-business-day production when you need it today.
- 4mm foam board — a rigid foam core between two smooth paper faces
- Perfectly flat surface that reproduces photography and fine type far better than corrugated plastic
- Very light — large panels mount with strips or standoffs, no heavy hardware
- 18 sizes from 12" x 12" up to 48" x 48"
- Same-day and next-business-day options
Choose your print sides
- Printed 1 sided (4/0) — color front, white back. The right choice for anything mounted against a wall, an easel back or a foam-board stand.
- Printed 2 sided (4/4) — different artwork on each face, for hanging displays seen from both sides.
- Printed 2 sided — same image — identical both faces, for suspended signage in a lobby or trade show aisle.
Choose your grommet pattern
- No grommets — the usual choice. Foam board is normally propped on an easel or fixed with mounting strips.
- Top 2 corners or all 4 corners — for hanging a panel from a rail, a ceiling grid or a trade show frame.
- Every 2–3 feet on top and bottom, on sides, or all around — for large hanging panels that need the load spread across more fixings.
Foam board or coroplast — which one?
Foam board is an indoor material. Its faces are paper, so it prints beautifully but will delaminate and warp if it gets wet. Use it for trade show graphics, presentation boards, retail displays, event signage, photo enlargements, science fair and awards displays — anywhere the surface quality is visible up close and the sign lives inside.
If the sign is going outdoors or anywhere it might get rained on, order coroplast yard signs instead; they are waterproof but have a visible fluted texture. For an indoor board that is stiffer and more durable than foam, see styrene signs or Sintra board.
Mounting foam board without damaging it
Foam board dents if you press on it, so avoid clamps and spring clips on the printed face. Removable mounting squares on the back are the cleanest wall solution. For a floating look, use standoff hardware through grommeted holes. For events, an easel back or a simple A-frame holds a 24" x 36" panel comfortably. Store panels flat, never leaning against a wall for weeks, or the board takes a permanent bow.

Artwork requirements
Upload print-ready files as PDF (preferred), AI, EPS, JPG, or PNG at 300 DPI in CMYK color. Extend backgrounds 0.125" past the trim edge (bleed) and keep text and logos at least 0.125" inside it (safe area). Every file is checked by our team before production — if something's off, we'll contact you before anything prints.
Proofing and production
Production time starts after your artwork passes file review — not at checkout. If your order requires proof approval, we'll send the proof and the production clock starts once you approve it. Turnaround options for each product are shown in the configurator above.
Shipping and delivery
Delivery time is production time plus transit. Once your order ships you'll get a tracking number by email. Transit depends on your address and the shipping method selected at checkout — larger format items may ship separately from small-format printing.

Answers about artwork, production and ordering.
Can foam board signs go outside?
No. The faces are paper over a foam core, so foam board delaminates and warps once it gets wet. It is an indoor material for trade shows, presentations and retail displays. For outdoor use choose coroplast, Sintra board or aluminum.
How do I mount a foam board sign without damaging it?
Use removable mounting squares on the back for walls, or standoff hardware through grommeted holes for a floating look. Avoid clamps and spring clips on the printed face — foam board dents permanently. Store panels flat rather than leaning against a wall, or the board takes a bow it will not lose.
