Yard Signs

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Yard Signs

4mm coroplast yard signs — the workhorse of local advertising, weatherproof and ready to stake in the ground. Printed full color on corrugated plastic in 19 sizes, with your choice of grommet pattern, single or double-sided printing, and matching H-stakes. Ready in as little as the same business day.

  • 4mm coroplast — waterproof, rustproof and light enough to carry a dozen at a time
  • 19 sizes from a 6" x 24" rider strip to a 48" x 48" full panel
  • Single or double-sided so traffic reads your message from both directions
  • Eight grommet patterns including real-estate configurations for hanging frames
  • Same-day and next-business-day options when the sign has to go up now

Choose your print sides

  • Printed 1 sided (4/0) — color front, blank white back. Right for signs against a wall or fence, or where traffic only passes one way.
  • Printed 2 sided (4/4) — two different designs, one on each face. Use it when the two directions of traffic need different information, such as an arrow pointing left on one side and right on the other.
  • Printed 2 sided — same image — the identical design on both faces. The usual choice for a sign staked in a median or a lawn where cars approach from either direction.

Choose your grommet pattern

Grommets are the reinforced metal rings that let you hang or zip-tie a sign. Pick the pattern that matches how you will mount it:

  • No grommets — for signs going on an H-stake pushed into the ground. Stakes slide into the flutes of the coroplast, so no holes are needed.
  • Top 2 corners — hang from a fence, a railing or two hooks.
  • All 4 corners — the standard for zip-tying a sign flat to a fence so wind cannot lift the bottom edge.
  • Real estate top only and real estate top and bottom — spaced to fit standard hanging real-estate frames, including a rider strip below the main panel.
  • Every 2–3 feet on top and bottom, on sides, or all around — for large panels lashed to a fence line, where more attachment points stop the sign flexing in wind.

Sizing a yard sign so people can actually read it

The rule of thumb is about 10 feet of legible distance for every inch of letter height. An 18" x 24" sign — the classic lawn size — carries a headline around 3" tall, readable from roughly 30 feet, which is right for foot traffic and slow residential streets. If cars are moving at 40 mph, they have two or three seconds: go up to 24" x 36" or larger, cut the copy to five or six words, and make the phone number or the arrow the second-biggest thing on the sign.

The narrow sizes exist for a reason too. 6" x 24" and 6" x 36" are rider strips that clip above or below a main panel to add "Sold", "Open House" or a phone number without reprinting the whole sign.

What 4mm coroplast handles

Every yard sign here prints on 4mm corrugated plastic, and that single weight covers most short-term uses: open houses, garage sales, election season, event directional signs, contractor lawn signs. It stakes easily, stores flat and shrugs off rain. Where 4mm reaches its limit is the long haul — a panel that stays out for months, sits in a high-wind spot or gets moved every week will eventually flex, so plan on a rigid material for those jobs.

Specs at a glance

  • H-stands: add one in the configurator, with a matching option to make the sign H-stand compatible

Yard Signs FAQ

Mounting, weather and artwork questions are answered below. If the sign needs to stay out for months or ride out real wind, step up to a rigid panel — aluminum or Sintra board; for indoor display, foam board is lighter and smoother.

Artwork requirements

Upload print-ready files as PDF (preferred), AI, EPS, JPG, or PNG at 300 DPI in CMYK color. Extend backgrounds 0.125" past the trim edge (bleed) and keep text and logos at least 0.125" inside it (safe area). Every file is checked by our team before production — if something's off, we'll contact you before anything prints.

Proofing and production

Production time starts after your artwork passes file review — not at checkout. If your order requires proof approval, we'll send the proof and the production clock starts once you approve it. Turnaround options for each product are shown in the configurator above.

Shipping and delivery

Delivery time is production time plus transit. Once your order ships you'll get a tracking number by email. Transit depends on your address and the shipping method selected at checkout — larger format items may ship separately from small-format printing.

HELPFUL BEFORE YOU ORDER

Helpful before you order

Answers about artwork, production and ordering.

Is 4mm coroplast thick enough?

For the jobs these signs are built for, yes. All coroplast is equally waterproof — thickness only buys stiffness, and 4mm is the weight yard signs print on here. It holds its shape on a stake through a campaign season, an open-house weekend or an event run, and it stores flat between uses. For a panel that has to stay rigid outdoors for a year or more, choose a rigid board rather than corrugated plastic.

Do I need grommets if I'm using ground stakes?

No — choose the no-grommets option. An H-stake works by sliding its two legs up inside the hollow flutes of the coroplast, so no holes are needed. Grommets are for hanging or zip-tying a sign to a fence. Plan on one stake per sign up to 18" x 24" and two for anything wider, and push them in by the horizontal bar rather than by pressing on the sign itself.

What is the difference between 4/4 and 4/4 same image?

Both print on two sides. "4/4" means two different designs, one per face — useful when traffic approaching from each direction needs different information, such as opposite arrows. "4/4 same image" prints identical artwork on both faces, which is what you want for a freestanding sign read from either direction.

How big does my yard sign need to be?

Allow roughly 10 feet of readable distance for every inch of capital letter height. An 18" x 24" sign with a 3" headline reads from about 30 feet, which suits foot traffic and residential streets. For cars at 40 mph, go to 24" x 36" or larger and cut the message to five or six words.
