When to spend on the premium stand
If a banner comes out of storage twice a year for a local event, the standard silver base is all you need. The premium stand earns its cost in three situations. First, high traffic: a heavier base with a wider footprint does not get knocked over when someone brushes past it in a crowded aisle. Second, frequency: the mechanism is built for hundreds of cycles, so a banner deployed every week keeps rewinding straight instead of going crooked. Third, appearance at close range โ the premium base has better finishing, which matters when clients are standing next to it.
Designing for a retractable banner
Put the logo and headline in the top third, where they clear the heads of a standing crowd. Keep the middle third to three or four short supporting lines. Leave the bottom foot free of anything essential, because tables, chairs and people block it constantly.
Supply the file at 33" x 81", 100โ150 DPI, CMYK, with 2" of extra image at the bottom for the cassette and 2" of safe margin at each side so the rail never clips your artwork.
Building a banner wall
Several 33"-wide banners stood side by side make an effective, portable backdrop that packs into car-boot-sized bags. If you plan to do that, design the set as one continuous image split across the banners rather than repeating the same graphic โ and remember to allow for the small gap between each banner's rail when you split the artwork. For a single wider backdrop, the wide pull-up banner covers 48" in one unit.

Answers about artwork, production and ordering.
What comes with the pull-up banner?
Everything needed to stand it up: the 33" x 81" banner printed on 13oz matte vinyl, the silver aluminium base with the spring-loaded roller inside, the telescoping pole and a carry bag. There is nothing else to buy and no tools to assemble. Between events the banner retracts fully into the base, so it travels without creasing, scuffing or collecting dust the way a rolled banner does.
How should I lay out a pull-up banner?
Think in thirds. The top third carries the logo and headline and is the only part visible over a standing crowd. The middle third holds three or four short supporting lines. Keep the bottom foot free of anything essential, because tables, chairs and people block it constantly. Add 2" of extra image at the bottom for the cassette.
How do I set up a pull-up banner?
Stand the base on the floor, pull the top rail up, and drop it onto the telescoping pole that clicks into the back of the base. No tools, under a minute. To pack down, unhook the rail and let the banner retract โ slowly. Letting the spring snap it back is the main cause of a crooked or creased rewind.
